Our Mission

The International Critical Care Paramedic Group is a special interest group, made up of critical care paramedics from across the world. The ICCP aims to:

  • Advance the role of Critical Care Paramedics, including working towards developing an international consensus on the role of Critical Care Paramedics.
  • Share and expand knowledge about national and international pre-hospital critical care practice.
  • Provide education to all on the role of Critical Care Paramedics.

Our Role

In the last 10 years the role of the Paramedic has changed considerably. Whilst there is little international consensus and standardisation on training and education, scope of practice or indeed professional terminology, some outstanding models of Paramedic Practice are emerging.

One such speciality that is developing is the role of the Critical Care Paramedic. This is a post-registration function that is designed to be deployed to time critical patients with life threatening medical emergencies.

The role of this group is to standardise language and share knowledge amongst Critical Care Paramedics from across the world in order to support the delivery of the highest quality, evidence based care to patients, regardless of their geographical location.
